Timothy D. Carlyle, Partner
Biographical Profile Timothy D. Carlyle is a partner of the Irvine based law firm of Songstad & Randall LLP. Mr. Carlyle has been a member of the State Bar of California since 1974. He received his Juris Doctorate degree in 1974 from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law and his undergraduate degree, with high honors, from the University of California, Santa Barbara in 1970. Mr. Carlyle’s practice emphasizes general business, corporate, finance and real estate matters. He represents clients in a wide variety of transactions involving business formations, acquisitions, operations and dispositions, as well as acquisition, development and disposition of real estate, including residential, commercial and resort properties and related financing, title and entitlement matters. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Carlyle was Of Counsel with The Buckley Firm in Mission Viejo, California. Mr. Carlyle has previously represented a development company in a complex coastal residential, commercial and resort project comprising over 500 acres and subsequently served as counsel and chief operating officer for that company. Prior to entering private practice in 1979, Mr. Carlyle served as in-house counsel to First American Title Insurance Company. Mr. Carlyle is a member of the board of directors of First American Trust, fsb, a subsidiary of The First American Corporation. He served as a board member of Pacific National Bank, Newport Beach, California prior to that bank’s merger with Western Bancorp (now U.S. Bancorp). He has served on the Board of Directors for The Bowers Museum of Cultural Art (Santa Ana, CA) and is presently a trustee of the Orange County Bar Foundation. Mr. Carlyle is a past member and president of the Laguna Beach Unified School District Board of Education. Mr. Carlyle is also a member of the American Bar Association and the Orange County Bar Association.
